John A. Davis is Founder, Chairman
and CEO of Davis Entertainment Company. Davis Entertainment
Company was founded in 1985 and has produced many major motion
pictures. Previously an executive at Twentieth Century Fox,
Mr. Davis has also been with Davis Companies, a California corporation,
since 1987 and is responsible for developing new ventures and
identifying and analyzing investments in start-up companies.
Mr. Davis was also the founder of Davis Television, Chairman
of Davis-Goldfarb Television and sat on the board
of Wetzel’s
Pretzels. Mr. Davis has an MBA degree from Harvard Business School
as well as a BA degree from Bowdoin College.
Kenneth R. Kilroy is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Trailhead
Advisors, Inc., a multi family office for ultra high net worth families
with existing single family offices. From 1997 to 2006 he was the President
of Marvin Davis’s holding company, Davis Companies. From 1982 to
1997 Mr. Kilroy was chief tax advisor to Marvin Davis and designed the tax strategies
for structuring the acquisition or disposition of assets such as Twentieth Century
Fox Film Corporation, Aspen Skiing Company, the Pebble Beach Company, a real
estate development company, and an independent
oil and gas exploration company among others. Prior to 1982 Mr. Kilroy
held executive positions at Sybron Corporation, Harris Corporation and Occidental
Petroleum Corp. Prior to Sybron, Mr. Kilroy was an attorney
with Amer, Cunningham and Brennan Co L.P.A. Mr. Kilroy has been a board
member of the Papal Observatory, the Los Angeles Food Bank, Marymount High School
and the St. Paul the Apostle School Foundation. He holds a JD Degree and
BS degree from the University of Akron and is a CPA.
John Matise* has invested in and advised
numerous private equity and venture capital backed companies. He
has actively assisted portfolio companies expand their business
both domestically and internationally, evaluate strategic opportunities,
raise debt and equity capital and lead complex business and financial
restructurings to maximize shareholder value. Mr. Matise
has held executive positions with Wedbush Capital Partners, Encore
Venture Partners, Russell Capital, Inc., Accenture and Deloitte
Consulting including senior operating roles with several portfolio
companies and clients. Mr. Matise is currently on the
board of Jane & Co., Inc., a current portfolio investment
in the partnership. Mr.
Matise has an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management
and a BA from the University of California, Davis.
Michael J. Seibert* was an
executive with Davis Companies from 1989 to 2003 where he led
private equity, public market and venture capital investments.
Mr. Seibert was a founding board member of WebTV Network and
Catapult Entertainment, was formerly COO of Davis Television
Group and sat on the boards of Thinkbox Media,
Wetzel's Pretzels and SpectraVision. He is also a member of
the board of directors of Pasta Pomodoro, Paramount Scaffold,
Inc., Blue Lava Group, Inc., and Jane & Co., Inc.,
current portfolio investments of the Partnership. Previously,
Mr. Seibert held executive positions at Pacific Enterprises,
Carlyle Capital, Wickes Companies, and Twentieth Century Fox
Film Corp. Mr. Seibert has BA and MBA degrees from the University
of Southern California.
Philip K. Smith* has managed numerous strategic transactions for clients,
employers or as a principal in the areas of real estate development, electric
power generation, cable television and oil and gas exploration. Mr. Smith has
held executive positions with American Energy, Capital Energy, Sage Capital and
KN Energy. Mr. Smith sits on the boards of Lighting Technologies International,
Ceyx, Debisys, Inc., and Gump's, current portfolio investments of the Partnership.
Mr. Smith holds a BS degree in finance from the University of Denver.
